Coos County Area Transportation District

Coos County
Request:
$2,300

Coos County Area Transportation District is requesting funding to purchase Premium Office Emergency Kits for employees who are responsible for maintaining and operating public transportation services during emergencies and disasters. These kits will provide essential emergency supplies that enable staff to remain safe, self-sufficient, and capable of continuing critical transit operations during events such as severe winter storms, earthquakes, wildfires, flooding, extended power outages, or other natural disasters that impact our service area.

Public transportation is a vital lifeline during emergencies, providing access to evacuation routes, medical services, shelters, essential businesses, and other critical destinations for residents who may have no other means of transportation. Equipping employees with emergency preparedness kits will enhance workforce resilience, improve operational continuity, and strengthen the district's ability to provide safe and reliable transportation when the community needs it most. This investment supports disaster preparedness by ensuring frontline employees have immediate access to essential emergency supplies while carrying out their responsibilities, reducing operational disruptions and improving the district's overall emergency response capability.
