We are requesting funds to purchase a Utility Terrain Vehicle (UTV, similar to a side-by-side or SxS) and trailer for accessing remote fires within our district. Currently we have several engines that are not capable of getting to these hard to reach places. South East Oregon has some very remote areas with challenging terrain. The ability to get access to the fires faster gives us a much better opportunity for success. Many roads are no more than two track roads, or even cow/game trails. UTV's are at times the only way to gain access to these remote places.

We have requested several pieces of equipment in the past from partners like ODF, and BLM. Currently a few of our members have been using personal UTV's.
