We would like to repair our wildfire water protection system and develop a reliable water source for wildfire fighting. We have some of the infrastructure but it needs repair and updating: a storage tank and pump system supplies a single hydrant on the property at this time. That system needs to be inspected and repaired. The hydrant will be replaced with a standpipe. We need a system to refill the tank using a tender shuttle instead of the property's well, which cannot support the tank, house and apparatus bays. We would also have the tank system feed an outdoor sprinkler system if the property faced a wildfire threat. Placement and feasibility of this system would need to be studied for the best outcome. The property has a community room attached to the apparatus bays that includes two full bathrooms, a kitchen and a large meeting space. It also has an upstairs area that could be used to store stable food and drinking water. It would also make the property an emergency shelter for residents to stay during a large-scale wildfire.
