Future Prairie, an Oregon 501(c)(3) queer arts nonprofit, is in direct contact with 12 LGBTQIA+ working-class Oregon artists displaced by the current Central/Eastern Oregon wildfires (Gilliam, Wheeler, Wasco, Crook, and Jefferson counties) who need to relocate permanently. They are currently being temporarily sheltered in Portland by Femme Rising, a trans-led dance and jiu-jitsu studio. Funds requested would cover near-term relocation costs — housing deposits, moving/transportation costs, and first month's rent — to help these artists secure permanent housing.
