Lake Chinook Fire and Rescue

Lake Chinook Fire and Rescue is currently operating with outdated radio communications equipment. These outdated radios make interoperability with mutual aid partners extremely difficult. Lake Chinook Fire and Rescue often has catastrophic wildfire requiring extensive mutual aid with local, state and federal partners. The ability to purchase 8 portable radios for staff and 8 mobile radios for our apparatus for first responders and our apparatus through our budget is just not feasible at this time. Jefferson County Emergency Management and Oregon Emergency Management have been assisting us with technical assistance, as well as searching for other funding opportunities. Lake Chinook Fire and Rescue has been applying for Federal assistance, but our small rural fire district just hasn't been able to secure funding for this needed communications improvement.
