Oregon Livestock Council is fundraising for an evacuation and sheltering equipment Points of Distribution (POD) for each side of the mountains–Eastern Oregon and Western Oregon. Each POD costs about $200,000. This request would provide for the 24' enclosed Shelter/Command trailer for the Western Oregon POD, and (156) 12' corral panels to complete the 45' Corral Panel trailer setup for the Eastern Oregon POD.

Wheeler County had an unprecedented wildfire season in 2024, like many other areas. A total of approximately 147,675ac burned (~14%) amongst 7 separate mega-fire incidents, not including the smaller fires responded solely by local volunteers. Funding through this proposal will be used for the high-priority need of purchasing forty Bendix King (BK) Radios to be immediately used across fire response agencies in Wheeler County.
