LatinX Recovery Center Inc

Deschutes County

Request: $18,000

We are requesting this funding to provide culturally specific direct services for grief, process groups, direct post-traumatic stress therapy, and community support and education groups for suicide prevention.

At LatinX Recovery Center, our hearts are with the Bend community and everyone navigating pain, loss, or uncertainty. A key priority is providing safe, supportive spaces for individuals affected by the shooting in Bend—particularly those facing mental health challenges, isolation, or cultural and linguistic barriers. This $18,000 investment will support the development of a trauma-informed support group focused on suicide prevention, community connection, and timely access to resources. Our goal is to strengthen support networks, reduce stigma, and provide guidance throughout the process of emotional recovery. For individuals, we will foster a sense of belonging and equip them with coping tools; for the community, we will create accessible spaces for connection and solidarity; and within systems, we will improve coordination between community organizations and mental health services to facilitate referrals and ensure continuity of care—all delivered with culturally responsive and compassionate attention

We believe in listening without judgment, honoring each person’s pace, and reminding people that they deserve to be seen and heard. We are committed to raising awareness about mental health and suicide prevention, reducing stigma, and connecting people from all communities with support and resources.
