Funding will support staff time, facilitation, and outreach to coordinate Grasshopper Fire recovery. The fire affected Badger Improvement District, Rock Creek District Improvement Company, portions of The Dalles Watershed, and high-use recreation sites and trails. SWCD and WCFC will convene agencies, irrigation providers, landowners, and recreation partners to identify priorities, clarify responsibilities, and connect needs with technical assistance and funding. Meetings, field tours, and expert presentations will address erosion, debris flow hazards, water supplies, and hazard tree removal along roads, campgrounds, and public access routes. Partners will develop a shared recovery work plan and funding proposals to protect infrastructure, restore safe access, support reforestation, and strengthen preparedness for future fire seasons.

With partial funding, project partners would prioritize staff time to communicate urgent hazard assessment findings focused on water supplies, irrigation infrastructure, and downstream communities. A scaled project would remain possible by relying more heavily on virtual meetings and reducing the number of anticipated site visits. Reduced funding would limit the frequency of coordination, breadth of outreach, and number of projects we could help advance. We would continue seeking additional support to sustain long-term recovery coordination.

We are requesting $50,000 to help neighbors prepare together before the next emergency. Of that amount, $30,000 will support the five Neighborhood Teams now getting started in the Row River Valley, including local coordination, team-leader support, meetings, communication, training and practical preparedness materials. The remaining $20,000 will help the Cottage Grove Community Preparedness Initiative (CGCPI) recruit and prepare volunteers, offer public training and education, and hold a community preparedness forum. RRVCP will also provide CGCPI with advice, limited fiscal sponsorship, fund administration and agreed volunteer support. This allows Row River to share what we have learned while bringing additional CERT, CPR, AED, first-aid and HEARTSafe experience back to our valley.

If only part of the request is funded, our first priority is the coordination needed to keep five Row River Neighborhood Teams developing. Mailed information would continue reaching valley households, but fewer funds would mean less staff time for meetings, team-leader support and follow-up, fewer training opportunities and materials, and slower team development.

We would continue helping CGCPI. Its first priorities would be volunteer recruitment and preparation, public communications and training. Logo and website development, additional outreach and the preparedness forum could be scaled or delayed. The Woodard Family Foundation already supports CGCPI’s part-time coordinator, so ODFN funds would address separate technical, communications, team-building and program needs. A scaled version remains possible, but progress in both communities would be slower.

We are requesting funding for emergency preparedness kits to keep at our program sites and in vehicles we use to transport program participants. These kits would be used by staff to ensure both their own safety and the safety of our program participants with disabilities.  Attached is a cost estimate for 6 emergency preparedness kits and what we anticipate including in them. The kits will address the need for hygiene products, non-perishable food, and receiving updates from government entities.

For the last two years, Willamette Partnership has been facilitating the La Pine Basin All-Lands Partnership, dedicated to reducing wildfire risk in southern Deschutes and northern Klamath counties. This summer, we were notified that the federal government would not be fulfilling its last two years for our award, meaning our funding will run out by the end of 2026. We are requesting funds for six months of facilitation while we wait to learn if the group was awarded a BLM grant that would cover our next five years' worth of facilitation.

Chaa-lamali, TEIP's outdoor classroom, falls under Oregon Department of Forestry (ODF) Protection Districts and the Western Lane Districts.

As the fire season in our area is predicted to become more extreme and longer, we should take decisive action this year.  Acquiring a 300+-gallon firefighting water trailer for Chaa-lamali is a practical step, with an estimated cost of around $18,500.  This will allow us to meet the on-site mobile water requirements for fire suppression, as required by ODF.

Jackson County Library Services (JCLS) operates 15 strategically located facilities throughout Jackson County, providing accessible community resources, information, technology, and support to residents.

• Improve JCLS’s ability to serve as a reliable community resource during disasters, power outages, severe weather, and other emergencies.

• Ability to have emergency food and water sources on hand along with other needed emergency supplies

Funding is requested to support a staffed coordinator to leverage and maximize the Collaborative’s impact, reach and resources. This request is urgent as fires burn, an increasing number of public sector agencies are needed in this work, an increased number of community organizations are engaged in this work, and the Rangeland Fire Protection Associations (RFPAs) - which almost exclusively serve Central and Eastern Oregon - face a daunting amount of increased response and resilience activity.

Immediate seed purchase for nearly 1,300 miles of wildfire suppression dozer lines across Wheeler County from the Rowe Creek Complex, Shingle Fire, and multiple smaller incidents ignited July 15th and still burning as of 08/04/2026. USDA has programs for disaster recovery; however, funding for those programs will not be available for application until the next federal fiscal year (November) and actions won't be funded until spring of 2027.

An estimated 11,000 acres of standing winter wheat burned, approximately one seventh of the county's annual crop. New seed will prevent that bare ground filling with weeds that become future fire tinder, and the seed must be planted in October. Landowners will plant with their own equipment and fuel, this request is for the seed to replant, and four broadcast spreaders that attach to a side-by-side to seed steep and rocky ground.

Funds will be used for post fire recovery efforts in case of wildfire in our area. Our greatest resilience need is to assist rural landowners or residents within WUI who may be affected by wildfires during this season to restore and recover natural resources. These areas are more vulnerable to wildfire impacts and have less access to resources to assist them.

Ashland is in the 97th percentile of wildfire risk in the country. After an unusually dry winter, we are at extreme risk of wildfire. We applied for major funding from Oregon Health Authority to begin implementation of the city's newly approved Community Wildfire Protection Plan but this was unsuccessful. " To lower Ashland's risk profile, the residential area must become “a fuel break — not a fuel source,” according to the plan. So we are getting a modest (completely unfunded) start by initiating a grassroots peer-to-peer initiative to organize neighbors to reduce wildfire risks and improve evacuation safety.

The City of Gold Beach and Gold Beach Wedderburn Fire District are in the process of conducting a feasibility study to do a merger and consolidation of the two districts and creating one district that would encompass both coverage areas.  This would ensure fiscal stability for the fire district as well as the City of Gold Beach.The project will upgrade an aging response vehicle to ensure terrain-capable, trauma-informed chaplaincy support during wildfires, floods, and other emergency responses.

We’d like to install a 30K generator to supply power to the building so that our community can gather there during a power outage or disaster.  This would complete the basic installation of the generator–we have the pad and propane tank installed already. The last estimate would be between $38-$40,000.

We are founded to support children and families in our community, and know there is a need for places for children to exist when it is unsafe to play outside due to air quality, temperature, or UV index.
