We are asking for a grant to support the purchase of a dozer and repairs to our other firefighting vehicles after battling the Second Flat Fire. We used our hummers and heavy trucks to the point we were having to rotate them out to ones that were running while someone ran to Boise for parts. We also realized a second dozer would be very beneficial to us, mostly because of how large an area we are responding to. On many occasions, we had to pull our dozer off and haul it to a different part of the fire to buy time for more resources to arrive, then shuffle it back to another area.
