Following the Silver Rail shooting, HUE seeks funding to sustain and strengthen its free creative-wellness programming for Central Oregon youth and families impacted by community trauma. Our space provides a safe, welcoming environment where young people can process difficult experiences through art, music, creative expression, and meaningful connection. Funding would support core programming costs, including staffing, art supplies, meals, and facility operations, while also strengthening our emerging mental health programming through a HIPAA-compliant electronic medical record system and clinical supervision for counseling interns. Recognizing that the effects of community violence extend well beyond the immediate crisis, we hope to provide consistent opportunities for healing, resilience, and connection in the months and year ahead.
