Jackson County Library Services (JCLS) operates 15 strategically located facilities throughout Jackson County, providing accessible community resources, information, technology, and support to residents. During disasters and emergencies, JCLS facilities can serve as trusted community hubs where residents can access critical information, emergency communications, charging capabilities, basic resources, and connections to essential services. JCLS has experience supporting community members during times of crisis and is positioned to play an important role in disaster response, recovery, and community resilience by leveraging its facilities, staff, technology, and established community partnerships.

We are seeking funding to:

• Enhance emergency communications and preparedness capabilities, including backup power and satellite communications.

• Improve JCLS’s ability to serve as a reliable community resource during disasters, power outages, severe weather, and other emergencies.

• Ability to have emergency food and water sources on hand along with other needed emergency supplies
