REGION
American Red Cross, Cascades Region
Request: $141,750
The Cascades Region of the Red Cross is requesting support for our response to the ongoing fires in Oregon. We are currently operating shelters in response to the following fires: Beachcomb & Bench Fires (Madras, Jefferson County), Grasshopper Fire (Maupin, Wasco County), Green Mountain Fire (Prineville, Crook County), Hagen Fire (Pendleton, Umatilla County), Second Flat Fire (Crane, OR, Harney County), and have a stand-by shelter prepared for the Shingle Fire (John Day, Grant County).
Lake Chinook Fire and Rescue
Request: $35,000
Application Materials
Lake Chinook Fire and Rescue currently does not have water supply to 3 of our 4 subdivisions. Right now, it takes 30 - 35 minutes to shuttle water in our tender for any fire or need. This request would cover one of the three remaining 15,000-gallon water tanks for fire suppression in our district.
Gilliam Soil & Water Conservation District: Water
Request: $90,200
Application Materials
Gilliam County is requesting funds to purchase 15 portable, aluminum drinking troughs (1,300 gallons each), and haul water to those troughs placed in emergency grazing pastures through the fall. The SWCD will own the troughs and be able to use them during future emergency situations, the livestock producers will move and place the troughs.
Jefferson County Public Health
Request: $11,800
Application Materials
2026 Jefferson County wildfire and smoke response. Jefferson County Public Health is seeking support for current wildfire smoke response efforts and to strengthen the county’s ability to deploy emergency supplies where they are needed most. The request focuses on immediate wildfire smoke needs, evacuation support, geographically isolated communities, and maintaining essential operations if power disruptions occur.
The City of Weston
Request: $128,000
Application Materials
We are seeking grant funding to install a full-service generator at our main city well. Project bids and estimates total in at $425,000. This generator is vital for the City of Weston, Oregon, and the surrounding areas in East Umatilla County. Our local fire service areas extend east to the Union County line along Highway 204 and this whole area all heavily depends on the local rural fire district, EURFR, headquartered in Weston. The fire district is essential for both our community and neighboring towns.
The Wave Foundation
Request: $30,000
Application Materials
We will use funds to coordinate pick-up and delivery of food and water donations from the Portland Metro area. Transport (with refrigerated truck and/or van) and provide labor for all related activities. We will collaborate with Simnansho community members to provide food at longhouse and old school cafeteria, as well as boxed foods that will be delivered for those with limited mobility.
Seaside School District
Request: $81,950
Application Materials
This grant request is to fund the purchase of a mobile water purification unit, which could be used by the School District after a natural disaster to ensure that any persons taking shelter on the campus will have clean drinking water. The unit in question has the ability to clean up to 3,000 gallons of water per day, and will be delivered to the School District in a fully contained and enclosed trailer that can be towed to any water source and used to fill clean water containers.
Row River Valley Water District
Request: $50,000
Application Materials
After the atmospheric river hit the valley in December 2025, the water intake was overwhelmed with debris causing the water district to lose water for 103 households.
