Requesting multiband portable radios and replacement of Legacy VHF radios. Total funding request. La Pine Fire lacks sufficient mobile and portable radios. Portable radios are a fundamental piece of equipment for firefighters, essential for ensuring their safety, coordinating operations, and ultimately saving lives and property. They are hoping to obtain 33 multiband portable radios and 13 replacement mobile radios for the Legacy VHF radios. The 13 mobile Legacy radios will replace radios that cannot be serviced. The 33 radios cost $4,665 or $153,945. The 13 replacement mobile radios cost $6,000 or $78,000.
This will allow La Pine firefighters and paramedics to communicate with the US Forest Service, the BLM, State Police, and other Oregon emergency management staff.
