Queer Enough (part of Oregon Synod, ELCA)

Request: $30,000

We are currently using a microgrant of $5000 to help distribute materials for ~150 folks to assemble emergency bags (including first aid, cold weather protection, household plans, water and sanitation safety, and other survival gear), receive cold weather first aid training, and participate in a supply swap to continue redistributing supplies to make sure more of our community has access to what is needed to survive or be prepared in case of a disaster.

Alliance for a Safe Oregon

Request: $50,000

Following the Silver Rail shooting in Bend, we are requesting funding to:

  • Expand our secure storage device distribution. We currently distribute high-quality biometric lock boxes to healthcare clinics, and we will be expanding this work to school districts across Oregon, who can then provide them to parents in need.

  • Bring FIPE, our free one-hour, physician-led health class presentation, to more high schools. Firearms are the leading cause of death for ages 1-19, yet Oregon high schools provide virtually no firearm injury prevention instruction.

  • Grow our trauma-informed care and civic engagement pathways for youth who have experienced gun violence.

World Forestry Center

Request: $25,000
Application Materials

World Forestry Center seeks support for its Public Forum and Toolkit on Wildfire & Respiratory Health, which will bring approximately 120 residents, community organizations, public health practitioners, and forestry professionals together in Portland, Talent, and Redmond, Oregon, in 2027.

These facilitated, scenario-based forums will help communities understand wildfire smoke risks, identify practical ways to reduce exposure, and strengthen coordination between public health and forest management before disasters occur.
