A Greater Applegate is seeking funding to secure .65 FTE of staff time and some flexible funds to be used for travel and engagement events to continue the Applegate Wildfire Resilience Initiative and build out a larger network of support that connects hubs and neighborhoods across Williams, Applegate, Ruch, Murphy, and Wilderville (the five recognized but unincorporated communities of the Applegate Valley).

Marion County Soil & Water Conservation District

Request: $25,000

Funds will be used for post fire recovery efforts in case of wildfire in our area. Our greatest resilience need is to assist rural landowners or residents within WUI who may be affected by wildfires during this season to restore and recover natural resources. These areas are more vulnerable to wildfire impacts and have less access to resources to assist them.

Gilliam Soil & Water Conservation District

Request: $10,000
Application Materials

Gilliam Soil and Water Conservation District is requesting funding to pay the transportation costs needed to deliver donated hay to agricultural producers affected by the 2026 wildfires in Gilliam and Wheeler Counties. Approximately 100 tons of donated hay have been identified or requested; however, transportation remains the primary barrier to getting this resource to affected producers.

Oregon Livestock Council

Request: $60,000
Application Materials

Oregon Livestock Council is fundraising for an evacuation and sheltering equipment Points of Distribution (POD) for each side of the mountains–Eastern Oregon and Western Oregon. Each POD costs about $200,000. This request would provide for the 24' enclosed Shelter/Command trailer for the Western Oregon POD, and (156) 12' corral panels to complete the 45' Corral Panel trailer setup for the Eastern Oregon POD.
