Chaa-lamali, TEIP's outdoor classroom, falls under Oregon Department of Forestry (ODF) Protection Districts and the Western Lane Districts.

As the fire season in our area is predicted to become more extreme and longer, we should take decisive action this year.  Acquiring a 300+-gallon firefighting water trailer for Chaa-lamali is a practical step, with an estimated cost of around $18,500.  This will allow us to meet the on-site mobile water requirements for fire suppression, as required by ODF.

We are asking for a grant to support the purchase of a dozer and repairs to our other firefighting vehicles after battling the Second Flat Fire. We used our hummers and heavy trucks to the point we were having to rotate them out to ones that were running while someone ran to Boise for parts.

The Wrights Spring Fire is creating an urgent need for coordinated outreach and assistance, particularly for families and individuals who already face barriers to transportation, healthcare, behavioral health services, stable housing, and disaster recovery resources. Tayas Yawks, a culturally responsive community-based organization serving Native American, rural, low-income, justice-impacted, and other historically underserved residents, is prepared to help meet these needs, but additional emergency funding is necessary to expand our response safely and effectively.

This project will support community resilience and cleaner air for thousands of residents and school children in Deschutes County. Funds will provide air filters to two rural schools (both of which are also emergency shelters) in Sunriver and La Pine, creating a healthy indoor environment for students on smoky days and for wildfire evacuees. This grant will also enable OEC to do a statewide survey of schools in wildfire-prone areas to identify their need for similar investments, and we will share that information with state and local decision makers.

A Greater Applegate is seeking funding to secure .65 FTE of staff time and some flexible funds to be used for travel and engagement events to continue the Applegate Wildfire Resilience Initiative and build out a larger network of support that connects hubs and neighborhoods across Williams, Applegate, Ruch, Murphy, and Wilderville (the five recognized but unincorporated communities of the Applegate Valley).

Immediate seed purchase for nearly 1,300 miles of wildfire suppression dozer lines across Wheeler County from the Rowe Creek Complex, Shingle Fire, and multiple smaller incidents ignited July 15th and still burning as of 08/04/2026. USDA has programs for disaster recovery; however, funding for those programs will not be available for application until the next federal fiscal year (November) and actions won't be funded until spring of 2027.

Specifically, LCA will provide portable air purifiers, emergency preparedness kits, and distribute essential supplies (canned food, grocery gift cards, infant formula, hygiene items, pet food).

Funding would cover one paid staff position to lead statewide coordination, a small media and communications budget, and support for a communication and coordination platform.

Funds will be used for post fire recovery efforts in case of wildfire in our area. Our greatest resilience need is to assist rural landowners or residents within WUI who may be affected by wildfires during this season to restore and recover natural resources. These areas are more vulnerable to wildfire impacts and have less access to resources to assist them.

Vernonia Fire lacks a second 4x4 small fire engine. With high-density forest areas, small, narrow driveways and many off-road areas, having a means to get firefighting equipment and water to a forest fire is crucial. A new 4WD "Type 6" fire engine costs around $300,000. For $35,000, we can convert a 10-year old truck into a small fire engine for rapid response. Our current wildland response rig is 23 years old.

Future Prairie, an Oregon 501(c)(3) queer arts nonprofit, is in direct contact with 12 LGBTQIA+ working-class Oregon artists displaced by the current Central/Eastern Oregon wildfires (Gilliam, Wheeler, Wasco, Crook, and Jefferson counties) who need to relocate permanently. They are currently being temporarily sheltered in Portland by Femme Rising, a trans-led dance and jiu-jitsu studio. Funds requested would cover near-term relocation costs—housing deposits, moving/transportation costs, and first month's rent—to help these artists secure permanent housing.

We are currently in need of another truck to pull a lowboy and dozer or an angle blade for a dozer. Both costs are about the same and we would decide which was needed the most at the time that finances were in order for the purchase and/or the availability of the needed equipment.

We’d like to install a 30K generator to supply power to the building so that our community can gather there during a power outage or disaster.  This would complete the basic installation of the generator–we have the pad and propane tank installed already. The last estimate would be between $38-$40,000.

We would like to add a permanent cooling center and clean air shelter, in addition to other resources. The funds requested are to cover a heat pump for the building. We are founded to support children and families in our community, and know there is a need for places for children to exist when it is unsafe to play outside due to air quality, temperature, or UV index.
